As we reported yesterday, tix as low as $25 are still available for the Arsht Center's Celebrity Chef Series featuring Anthony Bourdain, Jacques Pépin, and Eric Ripert. But for some reason the event's not selling out and free tickets are being offered to subscribers of one or more of the Center's series. Interesting. South Beach Wine & Food Festival reports $1.3 million dollar opening sales, a record, and that impressive trio of chefs can't even sell out a $25 a head event? What's cooking? Maybe that's the problem. While Bourdain will host a Cook Off competition between the Frenchies, the audience will have to stick to Trail Mix. That may be the rub.
