Watering Holes

2009_10_bar721.jpgSoon-to-open Bar 721 in the old Laundry Bar space not only exudes that SoHo loft vibe circa 1971 with shag carpeting, faux fireplace and Let's Make A Deal-esque sectionals, but is also the antithesis of the evil bottle service that so many watering holes are shying away from. Instead of that jacked up bottle of Absolut, Bar 721 will offer tableside kegs. Hmmm. First Au Pied de Cochon offers $4 cans of Pabst Blue Ribbon and now this. Is that a trend we smell or just beer breath? [EaterWire]
