Ryan at Miami's Restaurant Power Rankings reports that South Miami's "creative global fusion" restaurant Alta Cocina is no more. Owned and operated by husband and wife team Juan Mario Maza and Vani Maharaj, both Michy's expats, Alta Cocina was praised back in 2008 by Herald reviewer Victoria Pesce Elliott for its "flashes of talent" and "some truly cravable dishes" We called the restaurant to confirm but there was no voice mail, no answer.
