Offbeat, off the beaten path hipster hideaway Lou's Beer Garden doesn't just sell beer, you know. But about that beer. Executive chef and owner Luis "Lou" Ramirez says his handpicked selection of microbrews--12 on tap and 8 bottled--are among the most unique in town thanks to a local tasting panel that helps choose the brews. "[Lou's Beer Garden is] quite unique to any other beer house that boasts 200 or more beers that get lost in the shuffle,” Ramirez says. Among them: Dogfish Head Brewing Co's Raison D’Etre, Stone Brewing Co's Double Bastard, Rogue Ales Brewery’s Dead Guy Ale, Sierra Nevada Brewing Co's Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Left Hand Brewing Co's Left Hand Milk Stout. And then there's the food. A recently expanded menu of gourmet pub-grub includes crispy baby sardines, Iberico squid, pan fried kingfish, burgers, hand made artisanal thin crust pizzas such as the pizza featuring Lou's 16-hour pulled pork, which also plays a starring role in a sandwich as well.
