Booze, Music and Bacon at Vinyl & Kai on South Beach

New Zealander Chris Barron, an old school South Beach circa early 90s alum, has returned to South Beach with a laid back concept combining his two loves---food and music. There's happy hour Monday through Friday from 4pm-7pm featuring half priced drinks and appetizers, massive HD projectors and live music, which explains the vinyl part of the name. As for the word "Kai," it's the New Zealand Maori word for, well, food. And though the cuisine may not be New Zealand-influenced per se, you could say it's influenced by the country's most popular beer, Steinlager (surprisingly not on the menu). In other words, bar fare. Lots of it. Including a "Pint o Bacon." For a look at the menu, click here.
