Think Globally, Drink Locally

herradura-green-agave-cocktail.jpgTaking the concept of a green cocktail to another level is La Marea at the Tides, which will introduce a mouthful of a specialty cocktail Wednesday called Go Green, 100 Miles or Less. The idea, debuting on (but having nothing to do with) St. Patty's Day, is to support local farmers and businesses by using ingredients only available within 100 miles of La Marea. The result? A $12 boozy concoction consisting of gin sourced from local importer Artisan Brands, spearmint, key lime and cucumber from Paradise Farms and fresh honeycomb from Homestead. Sounds swell. Let's just hope the hangover stays back in Homestead. [EaterWire]
