Just announced via Twitter, finalists for the James Beard Foundation Awards taking place on May 3 at Avery Fisher Hall in NYC. Representing Miami for Best Chef in the South and, well, everything: Michael Schwartz of Michael's Genuine Food & Drink, who joins Zach Bell of Café Boulud at the Brazilian Court in Palm Beach, Scott Boswell of Stella! in New Orleans, John Harris of Lilette in New Orleans, and Christopher Hastings of Hot and Hot Fish Club in Birmingham. Unfortunately all the other Miami-based semi-finalists didn't make the final cut but we're sure they're thrilled to have even been nominated. Good luck! [EaterWire]
