Quietly open at 204 NE 1st Street, the only info we have on Sparky's Roadside Barbecue is a favorable Yelp review, which mentions fried oysters, catfish fingers, smoker-generated baby back ribs, St. Louis ribs, beef brisket, pork shoulder and chicken. Sides, too. And sandwiches. Plus a Brunswick Stew. Platters were $9.95 apiece including two sides. The restaurant's Facebook page only shows photos before construction (and a "discussion" on "Just How Amazing is that Pulled Pork Sandwich?"), but according to the Yelper, the "non pretentious, plain and simple, two blackboards, birdhouses on one wall, just a cool simple" place is easy to miss with "no signage other than on their glass windows."
