Pacific Time Out, El Scorpion In & Q to South Beach As Jonathan Eismann Teams With Jeffrey and Zach Chodorow

New, 7 comments

This just in: Continuing on his quest to be the Microsoft of Design District dining, chef/restaurateur Jonathan Eismann has teamed with that other dining dynasty, Jeffrey and Zach Chodorow, to bring the South Beach Mexican eatery El Scorpion to the 'hood at the corner of 40th and North Miami Avenue in the space currently occupied by Pacific Time. Yep, you read right. The beloved, iconic Miami restaurant is closing. Seems that Pacific Time has, well, run out. The new Mexican spot will feature a re-crafted menu and new design and decor. But that's not all. In this new partnership, a branch of Q American Barbeque will open on South Beach. You can guess where. If the partnership/restaurant swap seems unlikely, it isn't. Eismann started as a chef in Chodorow’s first China Grill Restaurant in New York. “I started my career in the kitchen working with the Chodorow family, I am pleased to be partnering with such a strong team. As South Florida dining evolves we are poised to be on the forefront of development and innovation. With our collaboration we are excited to change the way guests view dining in Design District’s West Side and South Beach," Eismann said. [EaterWire]
