After just a few short weeks of improving the culinary reputation at DeVito South Beach, chef Dena Marino is out. Marino, who once appeared on Iron Chef vs. Morimoto, was reportedly recruited by Danny DeVito's partner, restaurateur David Manero, after Manero dined in Marino's Aspen restaurant, D19, four nights in a row. Eater Miami had dinner at DeVito a little over a week ago, just days after Marino had cooked for the restaurant's diminutive namesake, and Marino, a wife and mother who moved here just for the new gig, seemed happy and told us she was adjusting quickly to Miami's, uh, unique dining scene. A publicist for the restaurant has confirmed the news, saying "They parted ways amicably and Larry LaValley, corporate chef for David Manero Restaurants, is sitting in for the time being."
