[The Bazaar by Jose Andres in Beverly Hills]
This just in: a Wall Street Journal article saying LA hotel and club guy Sam Nazarian just received a $65 million recapitalization on the wreckage formerly known as the Ritz Plaza. What that means isn't only that it will be a painfully trendy hot spot under his SLS hotel brand, but will also feature, yes, that much anticipated Bazaar restaurant "overseen by Spanish chef Jose Andres," and a sushi spot by chef Katsuya Uechi--both based on restos already thriving in Nazarian's SLS hotel in Bev Hills. Nazarian, WSJ says, plans to begin construction by January 1. We won't hold our breath, but the news is a lot more promising than that tattered Jose Andres coming soon sign on the fence out front.
