Status: Carrying over from 2010's year of the burger, Bulldog BBQ chef/owner Howie Kleinberg is opening the 70-seat Bulldog Burger in "early 2011" right next door to the North Miami 'cue joint. Why now? “I always wanted to roll out a couple concepts under the ‘Bulldog’ umbrella,” says Kleinberg. “Our burger is a huge seller, and I originally wanted more burgers on the Barbecue menu anyway, so this concept was a no-brainer.” Some of these burgers may even be news to the Burger Beast.
Signature burgers will range fro $7 to $15 and include, among others, French Bulldog with crisp bacon, caramelized onions, brie, crispy onions and a Dijon mayo; Mexicali Blues with chorizo-spiced beef, avocado, fried pickled jalapenos, queso fresco, and chipotle mayo; The Hawaii Five-O comeswith crispy ham, roasted pineapple, pepper jack cheese and Kleinberg’s house-made “Big Kahuna” sauce; the Honky Tonk Woman, with fried bologna, American cheese, coleslaw, fried pickles and Bulldog BBQ sauce; the Prime Steakhouse burger, topped with caramelized onions, a blue cheese-spinach croquette and tangy horseradish mayo; Hunk of Burnin’ Love with bacon, fried bananas, pepper jack cheese – and spicy peanut butter;' the Luther V (as in Vandross) bacon-cheeseburger served on a Krispy Kreme donut bun; The Baja with ground shrimp, bacon and avocado and is dressed with a chipotle mayo; and the Not So Kosher, with crisp kosher salami coleslaw, Swiss cheese, deli mustard and a 1000 Island dressing “schmear.” [EaterWire]
