Status: Opened in 1999 and closed in 2005, the orange and white hot spot known as Pearl Restaurant & Champagne Lounge is making a comeback on December 10, this time as, well, the same, really. The 8000 square food second floor space at Nikki Beach will feature an extensive cocktail, wine and champagne menu and cuisine by executive chef Sylvain Noel, whose global menu features Middle Eastern, Latin American, Asian and American dishes as well as an extensive selection of caviar. Recession who? The restaurant will also feature a new ceviche bar and oceanfront terrace. As it was before, the place will transform into that saucy South Beach scene at 11 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. As for why it's coming back, according to owner Jack Penrod, people missed it. "We figured that since everyone else missed it as much as we did, let’s bring it back!" he said. [EaterWire]
