New Year$ Eve

tunye.jpgHere's something novel: Chef Norman Van Aken's new restaurant, Tuyo, is actually throwing in some bubbly on New Year's Eve. Choose either the early bird 6 p.m. 3-course dinner for $105 per person or the 9 p.m. 5-course dinner for $195, both exclusive of tax and tip. On the first seating, champagne will be served upon arrival and on the second, upon arrival and at midnight. You get fed by some major chefs--Van Aken and Jeffrey Brana-- and buzzed, not to mention excellent views and, should you choose the later option, fireworks and a safe distance from the inevitable crazies over at Bayfront. For the even higher rollers, "Small-batch Canadian Osetra and Black Winter Truffles will be offered as a supplement to the menu and menu items." For reservations, call 305-237-3200. [EaterWire]
