Opening Friday in the newly spiffed up Shelborne hotel is Vesper, an American brasserie serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The name was lifted out of Ian Fleming's first 1953 James Bond novel, Casino Royale. In keeping with that Bond theme, there's a secret entrance in the back, "only accessed when accompanied by a hostess or famed Miami doorman Granville." Chef is Frank Ferreiro. On the (pricey) menu: Fall of the Bone “Chicken Wings” with sweet chili sauce ($14), Shepherd’s Pie--Kobe Beef Wagu, Whipped Potatoes, Melted Cheese ($28); steaks ($32 to $52), sauces ($3), shellfish ($18 to MP) and sides ($9 to $11). Click here for the dinner menu, here for the lunch menu, here for breakfast, and here for dessert. But wait, that's not all! Clearly keeping with a theme here is Lucy's Cantina Royale, the hotel's "walk-up Boardwalk restaurant." Click here for that menu. [EaterWire]
