Dining Al Fresco by Scotto: NYC's Culinary Clan on SoBe

The Scotto Family--Marion, Rosanna, Anthony, Jr., John, and Elaina Scotto--the well connected culinary clan---"The First Family of Italian Food" as they're known--- of NYC's Fresco by Scotto restaurant, among other things, will be down here for the South Beach Wine & Food Festival, first doing a demo in the KitchenAid Kitchen at the Grand Tasting at 12:45 on Saturday, February 26, and then later that night at the sold out Italian in Paradise event hosted by Giada De Laurentiis. We had a chance to ask the Scotto fam, who defies that pesky 'never do business with friends or family' thing, some questions about their upcoming visit and here's what they had to say:
Eater Miami: What are you most looking forward to at SoBe?
Scotto Family: Looking forward to cooking with Giada De Laurentiis. She is a pro. Also, getting out of NYC for a bit...the weather has been horrible!

EM: Which other chefs are you most excited to meet?
SF: We're lucky because we have met a lot of chefs, either at our restaurant Fresco by Scotto or working on the TODAY Show, but we're especially excited to break bread with some of the talented chefs from Miami, including chef Michael Schwartz of Michael's Genuine Food & Drink.
EM: Which chef's food are you most excited to sample?
SF: We live to eat..so anything that isn't nailed down we will be trying! But Bobby Flay's burgers top our list.
EM: What is your secret to working with family everyday and not killing each other?
SF: Mom is always right. So that settles that!
