Food trucks these days are a dime a dozen, but they're not cheap. For every gastroPod there's a real clunker out there that can barely afford air for the tires. But at least that clunker has wheels. Some aren't even that lucky. Enter the Mac'n Food Truck, a vegetarian food truck looking to merge into Miami traffic with your money. That's right, Mac'n Food is looking for contributions via the crowd funding site Kickstarter.com. Says a press release, "Owners Francesca Lacuesta and Mark Jennings are relying on their community to make their dream a reality by raising $10,000 . . . In return giving back some soul soothing comfort foods."
So what do you get for your investment? "Lacuesta and Jennings are offering backers . . . twice the amount the pledge in Mac'n Money." If you bite, the truck intends to be on the streets sometime next month, filling the void with "vegetarian fare with many vegan and gluten free options--options that have been seriously lacking in the Miami food truck scene."
