It’s only fitting that David Manero, owner of The Office and Vic & Angelo’s, is bringing his modern interpretation of the classic, American roadside burger joint, BurgerFi, to Delray Beach in early August. In fact, the whole idea for the fast-casual concept was borne from the success of The Office’s famous "CEO Burger".
Like its first sister property on Commercial Boulevard and North Ocean Drive, BurgerFi, short for Burgerfication, is opening its second outpost on A1A, on the corner of East Atlantic Avenue, the former homes of both Surf Sliders, and Manero’s own Shore Restaurant & Beach Bar.
What else is similar? The menu, which includes Natural Angus, grass-fed burgers, Chicago-style hot dogs, old-fashion frozen custards made every two hours, cupcakes and their signature “secret menu” - which is just a cryptic way of saying you get to customize your food options.
Next up for the gourmet burger chain are openings in South Beach, Downtown Brickell and Kendall. ---Lourdes Diaz [EaterWire]
