Shula Burger Opening at Holiday Isle

For Dol-fans, Don Shula is known as the winningest coach in National Football League history. But foodies know him for his many successful restaurant concepts. There’s Shula’s America’s Steak House; Shula’s Grill 347, named after his 347 wins; Shula’s 2 Steak and Sports; Shula’s on the Beach; and Shula’s Bar & Grill. Now, you can add Shula Burger to that list. The first is set to open by the end of the year in Islamorada on the same property as the Holiday Isle Resort and Marina, home of the legendary Tiki Bar.

The gourmet burger concept joins an ever-growing list of gourmet burger concepts, but this one has a twist, it will include wine pairings. Now, what burger place do you know of that offers Pinot Grigio or a Pinot Noir? And, would you like fries with that? Shula’s will offer sea salt fries and sweet potato fries, along with onion rings and fried pickle spears.There also will be fresh salads – from the Santa Fe to the Caesar – as well as chicken and veggie burgers. Bring your stretchy pants if you plan to order The Don, a burger, a hot dog, pickles, onion sauce, American cheese, ketchup, yellow mustard all on a brioche roll.
