Arizona's Grimaldi's Pizza Opening on Clematis St.

When it comes to coal-fired pizza, South Florida is quickly becoming quite the hot spot. There’s Anthony’s, Portofino, Russo’s, and now you can add Grimaldi’s Pizzeria to the list of coal-fired pizza restaurants expanding here. The Arizona-based company is opening a restaurant on Clematis Street in West Palm Beach in November. Its only other South Florida restaurant is in Downtown at the Gardens in Palm Beach Gardens. There's also one in Fort Myers.

The Zagat-rated Grimaldi’s is known for its hand-tossed, coal-fired pizzas and long list of toppings – from the traditional meatballs and sausage to artichoke hearts and oven-roasted sweet red peppers. Grimaldi’s also serves calzones and salad, and the dessert menu is to die for, with different types of cheesecake – from pumpkin and butterscotch toffee to traditional New York-style. You won't find pasta or chicken dishes. At this restaurant it’s pretty much all about the pizza.--- Lily Rano [EaterWire]
