Jodi Mailander Farrell is "Gastro-pubbed and tapas-plated out," but her visit to Peruvian-Japanese spot Kopas was a lonely one. "On both 8pm visits, we were the lone diners in a large, lacquered room with an empty outdoor patio and a sole waiter humming Pitbull tunes behind a shale-rock bar." As for the cuisine, the ceviche "packed a lovely citrus punch," and miso-marinated scallops were "perky, but "menu typos, "unidentified fish," and "mushy shrimp ceviche" were among the reasons Farrell gave it just two stars. Despite its, er, crazy name, Crazy About You, writes Lee Klein, features "another conceptual novelty at work here. It's called value." The flavor of value for Klein is a tasty one, as he seems to generally like much of the food. "Crazy About You is lovely in a more upscale manner than prices suggest. The location in the Mark Building on Brickell Bay Drive is off the street and out of sight, which might explain why prior venues here failed." Long story short, Klein approves. "I'm crazy about that amiable attitude, crazy about the ambiance, crazy about some of the freshly prepared cuisine, and, most of all, crazy about the concept of giving diners a fair shake." [MNT]
