CATCH, by Top Chef's Hung Huynh, Opening on South Beach

New, 3 comments

It's raining top chefs on South Beach, and adding to that downpour is Top Chef season three winner Hung Huynh, whose Meatpacking District seafood restaurant CATCH is opening in November of 2012 in the yet-to-open James Hotel, which is taking over the Royal Palm. The resto is owned by NYC-based EMM Group, whose co-owners Eugene Remm, Mark Birnbaum and Michael Hirtenstein, best known for sceney spots including Tenjune, were dubbed "the new kings of New York nightlife" by Forbes, but apparently they know about restaurants, too, with Abe & Arthur's, Lexington Brass, and CATCH.

When in town throwing one of their big parties, they "noticed a lack of seafood-specific restaurant options in Miami, and a desire expressed by its residents for more social, shareable, city-style dining." Er, anyway, Huynh is a big score for Miami, the city where his victorious Top Chef season took place. Among his signature dishes: Crispy Whole Red Snapper for two with Oyster Mushrooms, Peppers and Chili-Garlic Sauce, Dungeness Crab Tagliatelli with Flying Fish Roe & Scallion Tomato Sauce.
