Brewmaster Jim Patton of Wynwood Brewing Company died yesterday at the age of 59. One of the leaders in the craft beer movement, Patton began Abita Brewing Company in 1986 and since opened a chain of brewpubs in New Orleans and worked for Key West Brewery. It wasn't until June that Patton left California for Miami to help bring Wynwood Brewing Company to fruition as brewmaster alongside founder Luis Brignoni Jr. WBC is expected to open late this year or early 2013.
