Hidden Kitchen Fundraiser; Stinky Cheese Tasting

CHARITYWIRE— A vodka-sponsored dinner that encourages eating and drinking for a good cause is just too good to pass up. Tomorrow, October 9 Grey Goose presents the Slow Food Miami Hidden Kitchen benefit. This Slow Food event will raise money to help encourage edible school and community gardens in Miami. The dinner will begin with a tasting seminar by Grey Goose Brand Master, Jason Druckenmiller, followed by an interactive dinner with Chef Conor Hanlon of W South Beach's The Dutch and desserts by none other than Pastry Chef and Author Hedy Goldsmith of Michael's Genuine from her debut cookbook Baking Out Loud. MIAMI BEACH— Now you can enjoy all the delicious French fare from the recently opened La Gloutonnerie twice a day as they now offer lunch in addition to dinner. Head to the quiet South of Fifth neighborhood weekdays from noon to 3p.m. for items like their raw bar selection, a goat cheese salad, steak tartare or warm onion soup. [EaterWire]

MIAMI— Don't fear the cheese, eat the cheese. Tomorrow, October 9, the cheese mongers at The Federal Food, Drink, & Provisions will ease any nerves about stinky, fuzzy, moldy cheeses with a wine and beer pairing to show the best way to approach the cheesy situation (no, not Jersey Shore). For $35, get five cheeses and five respective pairings, learn a few rules about pairings, how to make a cheese plate at home, and how cheese is made. [EaterWire]
