Jodi Mailander Farrell awards two and a half stars to South Beach's ultra swanky and sexed up fine dining spot Bâoli Miami. The calm back patio and good service mitigate the club vibe in the front of the venue. So does the food:
...Vertone's rustic dishes taste as if they've emerged from some ancient oven in a seaside village. Exorbitant prices aside, the succinct menu presents a thoughtful assortment of Mediterranean-inspired dishes, with a heavy presence of foie gras, truffles and roasted garlic. She adds, "Only the occasional strobe flash and burst of DJ music through an opened door are reminders that people are gyrating in earnest on the other side." Sarah Ventiera isn't impressed by the service but loves that food at Fort Lauderdale's Osteria Acqua & Farina: "The dessert summed up our experience: warm and comforting. Whether the place adheres to the proper definition of an osteria or not, the food and the space itself feel like home." [BPB]
