Victoria Pesce Elliot is at it again, this time taking her tastings to the Gables' Frenchie's American Diner. While the name might seem confusing as to the cuisine, Elliot raves about French dishes with no hesitation at all. She calls their coq au vin "superb", the steak béarnaise "standout", and the "pencil-thin" fries (obviously French) "with a salty, hot snap and soft, puffy middle." The mostly French wine list is "simple, serviceable and well-handled", while the cakes are "dreamy." [Miami.com]
