If the world were to end tomorrow- oh wait it is. Well then, with the imminent date of the Mayan Apocalypse approaching, and before everyone goes into widespread panic, it's very important we go out with a memorable last supper. So Eater asked three Miami chefs: what would be your last meal? Can you guess who said they'll eat anything by Joël Robuchon, even something he/she found in the freezer section in Monaco? Or who just wants a slab of meat grilled by their grill master dad? The third chef wants a meal prepared by LeBron James and Dwyane Wade. Find out who they are.
Timon Balloo of SUGARCANE Raw Bar Grill: "I would eat anything prepared by Joël Robuchon. Whatever he would place in front of me I wouldn't question because he is Joël Robuchon, a genius. When I was in Monaco earlier this year as a guest chef on a Holland-America cruise, I saw Joël Robuchon prepared meals in a supermarket and I bet they are fantastic. Why? Because it's Joël Robuchon!"
Brian Nasajon of SushiSamba Dromo: "I'm from Uruguay and therefore nothing makes me happier than a simple piece of grilled meat. My dad is by far the best at grilling. A perfectly grilled steak for me is either skirt or flank with a touch of sea salt -no pepper- on a wooden grill. After that meal, I would die with a full belly and a smile on my face."
Dena Marino of MC Kitchen: "If the world were to end tomorrow, my last meal would be gnocchi pasta with fresh tomato sauce, cooked by Dwyane Wade. Since it's my last meal and the calories don't count, I'd add a dollop of fresh ricotta cheese made by none other than LeBron James. Although it's such a simple dish, it's always been a favorite– and who wouldn't love a meal cooked by the 2012 NBA World Champions?"
