Status: Open in the space formerly known as Out of the Blue Cafe, Jean Paul's House Restaurant and Market is the latest from Jean Paul Desmaison, (French to English translation: Jean Paul of the House!) former owner of La Cofradia in Lima, Peru which, in 2006, he brought to Coral Gables. After splitting from his business partner 2 years ago, he and his fiancee/partner stumbled on this location, renovated and voila. "What really drew us to this space," says Jill Olcott, "was the fact that this location is actually a 'house,' and what we are striving for is for people to feel as they are coming to our home for a delicious home cooked meal. We are keen to classify our place as a 'bistro serving new world cuisine with a Peruvian touch.'" She also tells us that chef Desmaison plans to change the menu according to his tastes and seasons.
