Status: Imoto, translating in Japanese to "little sister", is the second offering by Palm Beach favorite Chef Clay Conley, who has recently garnered more acclaim for his restaurant Buccan by being nominated for James Beard Best Chef South. Located next door to Buccan on South County Road on Palm Beach, Imoto is quaint space, featuring 40 seats and offering a selection of Conley's Asian influenced small plates, such as Peking duck tacos and a lemongrass tenderloin, as well as a high-end sushi bar led by chefs Kazu Yonemoto and Masa Tsuruga. Conley and the sushi chefs deliver creative dishes utilizing high quality ingredients with some of the seafood making the trip to the island all the way from the Tsukiji market in Tokyo. Similar to Buccan, the space was decorated by the internationally popular as well as Palm Beach local, Lars Bolander. Imoto is only open for dinner, Monday through Saturday. ---Matt Tylka [EaterWire]
