Status: Dennis Max is slowly rebuilding his restaurant empire. The culinary king is gearing up for the Feb. 20 opening of Assaggio del Forno, which translates as “taste of the oven.” It’s a casual dining concept that will showcase Neapolitan pizzas with artisanal ingredients as well as other dishes described as “indigenous to various regions of Italy.” Max opened Frank & Dino’s last month in the former Marcello Ristorante space at 718 S.
