Yard Bird's Kentucky Derby Party; Villa Mayfair's Brunch

COCONUT GROVE— Villa Mayfair will launch brunch for the first time this Sunday. From now on, brunch will be offered from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. and will include a different DJ every week. The $28 prix fixe includes a choice of three items from the menu (including cocktails), but a la carte is also an option. Of course, they have seating al fresco. [EaterWire]

MIAMI BEACH— Yard Bird is hosting a special party for the Kentucky Derby. They're offering a special mint julep and a menu of snacks like a lettuce wrap, cheese grit fries, bbq spiced hominy, and ham and spinach quiche. [EaterWire]

AWARDS SEASON— Today S. Pellegrino released their fairly well-regarded annual list of the "World's 50 Best Restaurants," and for the third year in a row, René Redzepi's Copenhagen restaurant Noma took the number one spot. Two new restaurants made the top ten: Dinner by Heston Blumenthal in London and Daniel Humm and Will Guidara's Eleven Madison Park in New York, which took spots nine and ten respectively.
