They say you can never go home again, but Miami original chef Allen Susser is giving it a go by hosting an alumni dinner on May 7 at the Trio at the Bay. With all proceeds going to the James Beard Foundation, the reunion dinner will bring together 15 celebrated chefs who have worked under or beside Chef Allen in his many years in South Florida. Each chef will man their own culinary station, with food to be washed down with champagne, Belvedere vodka and the fitting mango martini station.
While tickets are $150 for general admission and $175 for VIP (exclusive 50 person reception prior to the main event), the James Beard foundation will be streaming the event live for those who miss it.
Chefs scheduled to be in attendance include:
Chef Brandon Whitestone of Trio on the Bay (serving Pan Roasted Corvina with Black Rice, Corn Butter and Baby Carrots)
Chef Daniel Serfer of Blue Collar (serving Tagliatelle pasta, Pork and Veal Shoulder, Brisket, Reggiano, San Marzano Tomatoes)
