Though Miami city dwellers were holding out hope for a big win for Outstanding Pastry Chef Hedy Goldsmith at the James Beard Awards last night, it was not meant to be. That honor went to Chicago's Mindy Segal. Still the awards and afterparties were a big, fun, sloppy time. Here's hoping Goldsmith can pull it off next year. [~E~]
