Status: Opening Tonight
The Greek know how to spend money, and that is apparent at the long anticipated and extravagant Estiatorio Milos, which opens this evening on South Beach, across from Joe's Stone Crab. Utilizing top ingredients and fresh fish shipped directly from the Med, Milos will offer delicacies from chef-owner Costas Spiladis' hometown, "treasures from the land and sea...like Milos' famous crabcakes, soft shell crabs, oysters and even Nova Scotia live lobsters." The menu will be revealed this evening but one can imagine it will reflect the offerings at their four other outposts - in Montreal, New York, Athens and Las Vegas - specifically focused on the sea, which Ruth Reichl once declared, albeit along time ago, in her NY Times
The restaurant space mirrors the architectural flair of Athens - white marble, copious amounts of wood and white linens - while sitting over 200 diners. And for those on the go, Milos will offer Marketa - a Greek marketplace serving a variety of Mediterranean spreads, olive oils, cheeses meats, and of course thyme honey.
Stay tuned for more information as well as the release of the menu.
