Status: Certified Open

After plenty of hype, José Andrés has unleashed his adventurous and futuristic creations with the official opening of his Miami outpost of The Bazaar in the SLS Hotel on South Beach. While the menu is ever-changing, Andrés mixes distinct cultures, in his words "The Bazaar is a place where cultures meet", throughout the behemoth of a tapas menu featuring over 60 dishes.

Melding the cuisines into a "Spain-meets-Florida-meets-the-Carribean" menu, some of Andrés tapas include a conch fritter with a bechamel interior, brandade empanadas, a cubano twist on Andrés' air sandwich, onion soup with foie gras foam, and beef sui mei. The Bazaar also adds the Andrés twist to drinks like a liquid nitrogen caipirinha made tableside, a margarita with salt air, and an ultimate gin and tonic. With the touch of designer Philippe Starck, the dining room is split in two: blanco, the more formal of the two dining rooms accented with yellow murals and a white sea shell chandelier, and rojo, a communal area dressed in reds and watched over by a bull adorned with a lucha libre mask.

The Bazaar is open Sunday through Wednesday 6 p.m. to midnight and Thursday through Saturday 6 p.m. to 1 a.m.
