Katsuya by Starck, which officially opened at the end of last week, is another LA import to make its way into the SLS on South Beach, thanks to designer Philippe Starck and sushi chef Katsuya Uechi. With a menu mixed of small starters, sushi, robata and other hot dishes, Katsuya's highlights include crispy rice with spicy tuna, a sunset roll with freshwater eel and crunchy cucumber, miso-marinated black cod and a baked crab handroll wrapped with rice in soy paper. Along with a $75 tasting menu, the restaurant features a $25 Japanese prix fixe of miso soup, salad, a terriyaki entree and a dessert. Katsuya is open Sunday through Wednesday 6 p.m. to midnight and Thursday through Saturday 6 p.m. to 1 a.m.
