Some of our favorite local celebrity chef heroes are coming together Avengers-style for the greater good of breakfast at Miami-Dade County public schools. The most important meal of the day, breakfast is getting its own week, Florida School Breakfast Week. Running this week, on Wednesday September 19 the celeb chefs will visit their adopted school to host a delicious and nutritious breakfast event. The participating chefs and their respective schools are: Michelle Bernstein of Michy's and Crumb on Parchment for North Miami Senior, Doug Rodriguez of D. Rodriguez Cuba on Ocean and Ola at Sanctuary for David Lawrence Jr. K-8 Center, Personal Chef Richard Ingraham for Miami Northwestern Senior, Kris Wessel of Red Light Little River for Ada Merritt K-8 Center, Julie Frans of Essensia at The Palms Hotel for North Beach Elementary, Lorena Garcia of Lorena Garcia Cocina for Biscayne Elementary, and Bradley Herron of Michael's Genuine Food & Drink for Phillis Wheatley Elementary. The chefs will continue to work with their school throughout the year through other events, chef demos, educational seminars, and with the cafeteria staff to help update the menus and keep options healthy.
