It's been confirmed by Short Order that Chow Down Grill on Alton Road is closing down. But it won't be a total loss. Owner Josh Marcus is keeping the space and doing a new concept: Brewhouse. Expected to turn around within a month or so, Brewhouse will focus on beer, lots of it, and an Irish-American gastropub-style menu with bar eats, sandwiches, and entrees all under 20 bucks. The dining space will be converted to make room for a game area to play bocce, skee ball, darts, giant Jenga, and pool. This isn't Marcus' second turn around. He closed the Surfside Chow Down and re-opened with Josh's Delicatessen, which has been so popular it's on the Eater Heatmap. The Brewhouse concept sounds promising; maybe second time is a charm.
