The Boulan South Beach hotel is finally ready to open its first restaurant on the ground floor. Charles St will be a modern, "New York-inspired" bistro that seats 70 from Maso Hospitality Group founder Ken Ray, who joins Shawn Vardi, Hunter Gellin and Mark Shemel of the New York-based THINK Hospitality real estate company. The restaurant will open during SOBEWFF weekend on February 22, with an invite-only party hosted by Todd English. English will team up with Charles St chef Wolfgang Birk for a special opening night menu, and the night is also going to raise funds for Alonzo and Tracy Mourning's Mourning Family Foundation.
