Yesterday morning well-known executive chef of Shore Club's Terrazza, Stefano Riccioletti, was killed in a hit-and-run car accident on Miami Beach. According to police reports, suspected hit-and-run driver, Karlie C. Tomica, hit Riccioletti, who was thrown about 30 feet onto the driveway of the Shelbourne Hotel, and then made a run for it to her apartment in Miami Beach.
Thankfully, a pedestrian named Jairo Fuentes ran an incredible 40 blocks chasing after her car and called the cops with details of everything he had just witnessed. Fuentes mentions that he saw Tomica stumble out of her car as if under the influence of alcohol. Pending toxicology results, Tomica (who is currently out on bail) may be charged with more than "leaving the scene of a crash, resulting in death". The manager of Shore Club, Lucy Martin, has released a statement to Local 10 News saying, "Our thoughts and prayers are with this family during this difficult time. He was a valued member of our team and will be greatly missed."
