BUENA VISTA— The District Miami just opened on Monday and is serving up Pan American fare conceived by chef Horacio Rivadero (Best New Chef for the Gulf Region Food & Wine 2012). The menu breaks down into five sections: antojos, around the table, supper, accompaniments and sweets. Bar snacks are offered from $6-15, and a happy hour menu will be available daily from 5P.M. to 7 P.M. [Eater Miami]
DESIGN DISTRICT—Here's a video of The Cypress Room's Eric Larkee showing us how to use the trendy new wine toy called the Coravin, which helps preserve opened bottles of wine. How it works: "The Coravin pierces the natural cork with a medical grape needle and extracts the wine, replacing it with argon, an inert gas which is heavier than air. The wine bottle is never actually opened." [The Genuine Kitchen]
