A Look at District Miami; Coravin at the Cypress Room

BUENA VISTA The District Miami just opened on Monday and is serving up Pan American fare conceived by chef Horacio Rivadero (Best New Chef for the Gulf Region Food & Wine 2012). The menu breaks down into five sections: antojos, around the table, supper, accompaniments and sweets. Bar snacks are offered from $6-15, and a happy hour menu will be available daily from 5P.M. to 7 P.M. [Eater Miami]

DESIGN DISTRICTHere's a video of The Cypress Room's Eric Larkee showing us how to use the trendy new wine toy called the Coravin, which helps preserve opened bottles of wine. How it works: "The Coravin pierces the natural cork with a medical grape needle and extracts the wine, replacing it with argon, an inert gas which is heavier than air. The wine bottle is never actually opened." [The Genuine Kitchen]
