BRICKELL – Yesterday Miami.com wrote rumor had it that the Brickell Gordon Biersch location would be closing and in it's place a CVS would be opening. No news on whether it's a convenience store that's replacing the restaurant, but it has been confirmed that Gordon Biersch will, as of November 1, be closed. A Gordon Biersch PR rep tells Eater the shutter is "due to adverse economic conditions at that location". [Miami.com]
CORAL GABLES – Staying true to its Mexican roots, Talavera restaurant is celebrating Dia de los Muertes (Day of the Dead) from November 1 to November 3. They'll be offering the traditional Pan de Muerto (sweet bread) with a cup of hot chocolate for $7.50.
BRICKELL - Friday, November 8, marks the one-year anniversary of OTC. There've been some changes (chefs, menus, etc.), but the Mary Brickell Village restaurant is still going strong and, to celebrate, they're throwing a party. From 7 to 8:30 p.m. recently appointed chef Jacob Anaya will be passing out complimentary bites from their new menu. Cigar Factory and Funky Buddha will satisfy beer cravings with discounted special release beers. [EaterWire]
