BRICKELL –The Island Bistro on Brickell Key now has a new team member, the Michelin star-rated Steven Rojas. Rojas is joining the restaurant as the director of operations for the restaurant's parent company, Senses Brasserie. [EaterWire]
MIDTOWN – The Daily Melt is throwing a pre-halloween bash to unveil their "wrap-around mural". The event, complete with free grilled cheese tastings, live music, drinks, costume contests and prizes, is open to the public and takes place October 30 from 4 to 7 p.m. [EaterWire]
COMING ATTRACTIONS – Last week we mentioned that Top Chef Carla Pellegrino would be opening a Miami restaurant. We still don't have a name, but now we know the spot's going to be an "$8 million rooftop fine dining restaurant, due to open in February". CORAL GABLES – Attention burger aficionados, the Burgerlicious festival will be holding its third annual event on November 7 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Fred B.
