The latest restaurant on the South Beach dining scene is Arena Restaurant & Lounge, an eatery focused on "global eclectic cuisine" that will moonlight as entertainment lounge featuring various performances. The new spot is the first restaurant venture from Val Povaliaiev, a long standing Jazz and music concert producer who has worked performances all around the world including Miami at the New World Center. Staying true to that music industry, Povaliaiev has recruited numerous performers to provide live entertainment regularly at the restaurant, like the Rene Toledo Quintet.

"Arena is an alternative to the majority of other nightclubs on South Beach. By providing a relaxing and inviting atmosphere that features acclaimed performances, complimented by amazing cuisine, we're giving guests a full 'experience' that goes beyond just going out for dinner," says manager Mauro Silva in a press release. As far as cuisine is concerned, Florida-native chef Eduardo Rodrigues, whose previous work includes stints with the National Hotel, and Grand Bay Club, will run things in the kitchen, dishing out menu items made with "locally sourced ingredients", "homemade pastas", "imported Italian cheeses and sustainable seafood". Arena Restaurant & Lounge will officially open this Friday, November 15.
