Locals Get a New Hangout Spot: Public House

Back in September we found out that a new bar called Public House would be opening South of Fifth. Last week, they very quietly opened their doors to the public. Turns out the guys behind Public House are the same as those who brought Foxhole to Miami Beach. A press release describes the new bar as "a vintage surf-style saloon with a post-modern Miami twist". Also, according to the press release, the team plans to keep Public House a spot for the locals with "bar-type entertatinement" like darts, billiards and pinball; low music playing on the jukebox and a DJ every once in a while.

Jaycen Cochran, partner at Foxhole and Public House, says, "Our goal with Public House was to open a simple 'come one, come all' type of establishment for locals and people in the industry" and adds, This is the type of place we would go for drinks". Public House is open seven days a week from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m.
