A little under a month ago, Lippi, the latest venture from Zuma-investor Tunu Puri, opened its doors in Brickell. The posh restaurant is home to former Palme d'Or chef Philippe Ruiz, who brought his skills back with New American/Mediterranean-inspired plates like grilled duck breast and seared Australian wagyu beef. Here's what people are saying about it so far:
The Top Notch News: One Yelper describes Lippi as "quite a solid spot". He writes: "Visited Lippi on a Saturday night... The whole experience was top notch. Solid space and the bar area is quite formidable. The dishes are prepared perfectly and the service is impeccable. Tuna Tartar, Mushroom Risotto, Wagyu Beef were hits". [Yelp]
The Absolutely Fantastic News: Another Yelper writes "Finally an excellent restaurant in Miami. Chef Philippe Ruiz cuisine is marvellous. Absolutely fantastic small plates to share, foie gras terrine, artichoks, tuna tartar, pissaladiere a must!!" adding that she "Cant wait to go back to try out the main dishes" and that the restaurant has a "great terrace and beautiful inside". [Yelp]
The Thrillist News: Our blogger friends over at Thrillist name Lippi the Best New Fine Dining spot on their list of "the eight best new places to eat and drink in Miami". They write: "You've heard the food at Zuma is pretty good, but given that you don't like to wait even 10 minutes for a chalupa, you're probably not willing to wait the three months it takes to get a table there. Good thing Lippi – the new Brickell venture from the team behind Zuma – opened up so you can dine in marble-floored and oversized-chandelier'd splendor on fresh Med-American stuff, like truffled scrambled eggs, and a 26oz bone-in rib eye, while sipping their massive selection of single malts and 350+ wines". [Thrillist]
The Just Okay News: One yelper says the food is just "okay". He writes: "Quality of food is okay. For what I spent I would go to other restaurants in Brickell. Restaurant is beautiful but quality of food makes it an okay experience." [Yelp]
The Tweetable News: Food writer Sara Liss pours some love on Lippi via twitter: Don't have any great pics (lighting is ultra low) from last night's jaunt to @LippiRestaurant but loved every bite, especially the duck." [Twitter]
The Like Never Before News: Back on Yelp, a fan says "the Biltmore's loss is Brickell's gain. World class small plates that aren't that small...Ruiz's creativity, unleashed like never before, is balanced by his stunning technique and brilliant sense of composition." The yelper adds, "Oh, and it just may be the best restaurant in town, excluding Naoe." [Yelp]
