Alba's WTF Dinner Party; Singles Party

SUNNY ISLES - Chef Ralph Pagano's newly opened restaurant, Alba, is launching its first WTF (Wine, Travel, Food) weekly dinner party on Thursday, February 7. Dinner ($35) will include a tasting menu with as much pasta, fish and meat as you can eat. Try as many glasses of wine as you can drink, too, for only $15. At the end of the night, before the checks are given out, a little bingo-like game will be played. The entire dinner, including drinks, is on the house for whoever wins. [SO]

SOUTH MIAMI - Fadó Irish Pub is partnering up with Conscious Acts of Kindness and throwing a Pre-Valentine's Day Singles Lock and Key Party this Saturday from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.. The idea is that some people will receive keys and other will receive locks; both will have to try to find the lock or key that matches theirs own and the first ten couples to do so will be awarded with prizes such as spa days and complimentary bar tabs. To play the game, a $10 donation is required at the door, but guests will receive a free vodka cocktail, happy hour will be extended to 4 a.m. and proceeds will benefit the American Heart Association. SOUTH MIAMI - RA Sushi will host the "Foodies Show Heart charity cooking competition" (Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.), featuring local media names such as Laine Doss, a New Times reporter, Linda Gassenheimer, a Miami Herald writer, and Jen Karetnick, a Miami Magazine critic. These and several other food writers will pair up with a sushi chef to make their own sushi roll. Whichever roll wins will take a seat on RA Sushi's menu for thirty days and part of the proceeds from the sales of the roll will go to a charity of the winner's choice. [MiamiHerald]
