Michael Schwartz' soon to be completed venture, The Cypress Room, has an official opening date and it is March 27.
A while back it was announced that the Design District restaurant, more upscale compared to Michael's Genuine Food & Drink and Harry's Pizzeria, will be manned by former chef at Barbuto in New York, Roel Alcudia. His cuisine, "a nod to the spirit of classic 1920s fine dining", will be "farm-centered" and will include items such as bone marrow, frog legs and côte de boeuf. Hedy Goldsmith, "executive pastry chef for The Genuine Hospitality Group", will be providing desserts such as hazelnut parfait. Prices will run about $75 per person. For now the restaurant will only be open for dinner Monday through Saturday (from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 6 p.m. to midnight Fridays and Saturdays). Stay tuned for lunch hours: "Coming Soon". And check out their full menus here.
