Last month Ricochet quietly closed its doors. Alan Roth, one of the spot's owners, told Eater that after a year and a half of keeping it open, he decided it was time to move on. Roth says the reason for closing was a "personal decision" and adds, "I was ready to walk away from the nightlife scene. After 20 years of being in the business, I wanted to take a break and change up my life ? The drive is just not there". Roth also admits that the nightlife business is hard, and his "hat goes up to the guys that are still in it and have done it for a long time".
The Ricochet space has been sold to Baru LLC and a press release confirms that they plan to re-open the spot as their third location of Baru Urbano, though, that might take some time. As far as future plans for Ricochet are concerned, Roth doesn't have anything to disclose as of yet, but rumor has it that a deal with the Hard Rock is in the works and the bar may re-open there.
