Cesar Morales to Open Pizzeria Next to Wood Tavern

Wood Tavern is about to get a little bit cooler once you can bring over pizza from the pizzeria its owner Cesar Morales plans to open up right next door. And he's also opening a convenience store. Apparently he's already drawn up a lease for the building behind Wood with plans to have the convenience store open in the next 3 months and the pizza spot "within six to eight months, after all the permits go through".

Morales tells Short Order that "the idea is New York-style pizza ? very local, affordable". As far as the convenience store, they'll be selling "candy bars, juices", "other goodies" and sandwiches to the likes of "what you see in a cool little European café". Morales adds that "the neighborhood needs more foot traffic, more food options" and that he thinks "it'll do well" in the growing neighborhood.
